In 2010, Aerospace Corporation sent ICLA an RFQ to design, photograph and produce Aerospace Corporation’s 50 Year Anniversary Book to honor the people and the legacy of Aerospace Corporation.
Drawing on ICLA’s resources, experience, technical knowledge and design capabilities, ICLA submitted a winning proposal, which included designing a new look for the anniversary books, photographing over 4,500 Aerospace employees and printing and binding the books in time to be delivered to a company-wide anniversary event.
The photography was shot over a 2-month period by 3 photography teams traveling to Aerospace Corporation’s three main facilities, in California, West Virginia and Washington DC. Pick up photography was concluded by one of the teams on a follow up basis. Once all photography was completed, ICLA color corrected and balanced all color images, so that they would balance properly throughout the printed book. After viewing the result, Aerospace Corporation’s management was so impressed by the quality of the employee images, they requested ICLA resize all employee images to fit new ID cards and produced new cards for the whole company.
Comprised of 2 case bound books, one 354-page book to honor the people of Aerospace Corporation and one 348-page book to honor the history and legacy of Aerospace Corporation, the set of two books is housed in an elegant turned edge slipcase.
To complete the job on time, ICLA built and monitored a detailed production schedule for all employees and team members to follow. Despite the complexity of the project, having this shared road map helped everyone stay on schedule and complete the job on time.
During the production, client was so pleased with all aspects of the design that they embraced ICLA’s suggestion that Aerospace Corporation produce a limited edition book, presented in a leather clamshell box, as a thank you to all the influential people, past and present, who contribute or had contributed in some way to Aerospace Corporation’s success.
