The mission ICLA was given by Jon Polk from Box of Vision, was to create a box design and engineer it so that the components fit together like a watch and the collection looks and feels expensive. ICLA presented various designs and created comps for final approval of the selected design.
Then, to facilitate the ultimate design and decoration, ICLA provided the client with a vast array of fabrics, leathers, faux leathers, liners, metallic and colored paper options, so that Jon and his designer could create a box set that truly reflects the essence of John Lennon.
Comprised of a slipcase with a unique magnetic door on the face, the slipcase is wrapped with canvas-textured Arlin and printed with an image of John Lennon on the front in silver metallic ink. A reproduction of one of John Lennon’s original paintings decorates the back of the slipcase.
The John Lennon collection includes one large format 168-page smyth sewn case bound book that provides candid photographs of John Lennon’s and Yoko Ono’s marriage, including their wedding certificate. The book also contains newspaper clippings of their wedding and honeymoon and political cartoons of the time. Other newspaper articles and candid photography of John and Yoko, jacket graphics, lyrics, and label graphics complete the book.
A large format 36-page smyth sewn softcover catalography contains a John Lennon’s music catalog with album graphics, song listings and the backstory behind each album.
A unique CD binder wrapped with canvas-textured Arlin and debossed with “WAR IS OVER” rounds out the collection. The binder contains patented PVC sleeves, that are designed to hold the complete collection of John Lennon’s CD’s and their individual booklets in quick release pockets that allow easy access to the CD’s.
