Pipes of Peace
In 2015, the Pipes of Peace Archive Collection was produced concurrently with Tug of War for Concord Music Group, YES Studio and MPL Communications, Ltd.
Paul has always been drawn towards duality, to complementary and contrasting subjects. Black White. Man Woman. Life Death. War Peace. And, as such, the Pipes of Peace Archive Collection is the companion piece to Paul McCartney’s previous album, Tug of War.
It is comprised of a 112pp smyth sewn Essay Book with a printed and foil embossed soft cover. The Essay Book, written by Annie Nightingale, contains the back-story for the album, hand written lyrics, photographs and story behind Say, Say, Say and its video.
The Video Book, a 64-page plus soft cover book with a 3D foil medallion of Paul on the cover depicts the making of the Pipes of Peace video about a BBC film where the Germans laid down their arms and the British laid down their arms and they have a football match in no-mans land.
And lastly, a 3-panel 2-CD + 1-DVD Wallet to hold a re-mastered album CD, a bonus audio CD and a bonus film DVD that accompany this collection.
These books are housed in a sequentially numbered, fabric-covered slipcase with album cover tip-on mounted in a de-bossed well on the face of the slipcase.
