In 2015, Laurie David was referred to ICLA as a source to design and print a book for a remarkable woman that she had met in Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Peggy Freydberg, a woman of 107 years at the time, had begun writing poetry at the age of 92 and Laurie was taken with the beauty and wisdom of her body of work.
Working under the gun to design and print the first edition of Peggy’s poems while she was still alive, ICLA finished the design in record time and completed the final PDF proof of the book, so that Peggy could read and make the final edits before she died. Pleased that people would be able to read her poems long after she died, Peggy was thankful that Laurie and many others had come together to make it happen. A truly beautiful book and author, Poems from the Pond makes a wonderful read. It makes you feel good and a part of the whole human experience.
Poems from the Pond is in its third printing.
