Released for Christmas by Surfdog Records, The Brian Setzer Orchestra Rockin’ Rudolph box set began as a request from Surfdog Records that ICLA design and engineer a unique box set presentation of various Brian Setzer Orchestra ephemera and music CDs.
From the various options that ICLA presented, Surfdog Records approved an advent calendar solution with doors that open to reveal their contents. With a list of the various items that Surfdog Records wanted to include in the collection, ICLA engineered and constructed a paper sample for the client’s approval. Upon approval, ICLA created a template and placed into it Surfdog Records’ existing cover art, created by Derek Yaniger, a first time Brian Setzer collaborator.
The Brian Setzer Orchestra Rockin’ Rudolph collection includes a brand new Rockin’ Rudolph CD album, a 66.5” x 12.25” 7-panel commemorative sheet music and “Nutcracker Suite” guitar chart (just like those that Brian reads on stage), a custom Brian Setzer cast metal Christmas tree ornament (3” tall), a tin of Brian’s favorite hair wax (Murray’s Pomade), a commemorative Brian Setzer Orchestra Martini Logo stainless steel guitar pick, a set of 6 Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas album cover drink coasters, 6 Polaroid-style concert photo cards and a “Live in Nashville” 10” ×10” print.
